There were artistic creations for all walks of life on Saturday at the 13th annual Gulf Breeze Celebrates the Arts festival at Gulf Breeze High School.
Glass mermaids and sculptures of starfish were just two types of art displayed by 130 artists who came from throughout the nation.
"You get art from all over the country," said Sue Warner, festival director. "They're bringing the art to you."
She said she expects the festival to attract about 10,000 visitors to Gulf Breeze during the two-day event, which concludes today.
Lindsay Garrett of Rome, Ga., usually attends festivals to show off his photography. But this year, he decided to show off his paintings of the female form.
"I'm coming back to what originally inspired me -- oil on the canvas," Garrett said.
One artist in the fine-craft category made decorative objects from wood-turning.
"A friend introduced me to it," said Charles Beams of Cottondale, who received a recognition award for his work at last year's festival. "The next thing I know, I'm hooked to it."
